A Clinical Psychologist has completed training to develop specialist knowledge of the brain and how people behave, think and feel using psychological science, theories and models.

To work as a clinical psychologist I have completed a 4 year honours undergraduate degree in psychology plus an additional three years of postgraduate university training at doctoral level. Clinical psychology training teaches the application of psychological theories and models to clinical problems seen in healthcare settings across the developmental lifespan.
I have worked in Neuropsychology as an assistant psychologist, a trainee clinical psychologist and now as a qualified Clinical Psychologist. have a clinical interest in Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and have undertaken the following research projects during my training at the University of Edinburgh which was completed in 2020.
I also supervised trainee clinical psychologist small scale audit projects looking at healthcare utilisation among patients with fibromyalgia (2021) and functional abdominal pain (2022).
Prior to my clinical training I completed a Masters of Research (MRes) in 2010 Investigating the Elements of Empathy in Aging. and a PhD in 2013 which explored the Impact of Aging and Dementia on the Precursors to Theory of Mind.
